How much does a baby cost anyway?

Noah is sleeping. I am writing my first blog ever. I have much to learn. I know nothing of the sport–CSS and RSS to name a few. I don’t even know if anyone will read this! But I blog on, wondering what I can share, discuss or rant about.

How about this article in the Financial Post. Can someone please explain to me how a couple who make a family income of over 150k are wondering if they can afford another baby!? Give me and another few thousand stay-at-home-moms a bloody break people! Their lifestyle reeks of over-consumption and keeping up with the Joneses and frankly, it makes me sick. I could offer them a few pointers about making ends meet but I doubt my lifestyle choices would suit them very much. Try breastfeeding and cloth diapering if you’re worried you won’t be able to afford your half-a-million dollar dream home.

I digress. It just boils my blood. I suppose this is not such a nice way to start my blogging days. The rant is over. I’ll try to keep it positive tomorrow.

  1. Ugh! That article actually made me sick to my stomach. It is completely disgusting! You called it–over-consumption! And whiny, spoiled, and selfish too! Eating out gives them more time together? So, what, the kid can’t be involved in supper preparations? You can’t talk while peeling carrots? Gimme a break!!! They actually admit to spending $10 a day on coffee?! And I flip out when I have to spend $10 a *month* on it! I literally couldn’t finish the article. I have no sympathy for them, and I don’t *want* them to be able to have everything their little hearts desire, because they’re spoiled brats!

That’s about all I can say without resorting to yelling or cussing! So I guess I’ll sign off now. :-)
