About moi

I am a Montrealer, a Quebecker, a Canadian.  I am a stay-at-home Mommy, a wife, a sister.  I am an environmentalist.  Composting makes me feel good inside.  I am a bit crunchy at times.  I am a breastfeeding advocate.  A cloth-diapering pusher.  I used to travel.  I miss that a lot but I am more grown up now so I have accepted the fact that my Bohemian days are behind me for now.  I am not particularly talented at anything but I like a lot of things including cooking (and eating), sewing, photography, movies, writing and taking walks with my family.  My next goal is to run.  A half-marathon would be great.  I’ll definitely need a new pair of runners and a serious sports bra.

  1. Hello,
Congratulations on your boy he is gorgeous!!! I just read your post about a birthing center in Montreal. i am looking for one in Montreal that is willingto try VBAC and I am pregnant with twins, do you still have the name of the center in Montreal? Also if you ever hear about a center in Ontario that will attempt twin VBACs I would love to hear about it!

    • There are two birthing centres in Montreal (better known as “Maison de Naissance” in French). They are associated to the local CLSC. One is in Cotes des Neiges and the other in Pointe Claire. Unfortunately, if you already know you have twins (I am assuming you are at least 12 weeks pregnant), then it is too late for a midwife assisted birth in Montreal because the waiting lists for these places is huge. You basically have to call after your post-coital cigarette to get a place! In Ontario, I think you can hire a midwife privately, but I am not sure. You’d have to research that.
